Happy Monday, friends! As I was gathering my thoughts for today's blog, I was going all over the place. This weekend the LORD has blessed me immensely by having multiple fruitful, enriching, encouraging, and convicting conversations with a couple good friends about JESUS and HIS Word. But, as I was listening to my worship/praise/contemporary Christian playlist (yes, I have them all in the same playlist LOL) preparing to write this, a song actually was used to help hone some thoughts. It will be encouraging for the both of us to start a new week glorifying CHRIST!
Some of my Scripture thoughts written in my journal this week can be tied together to bring us comfort in knowing that if we are HIS children, HE holds us. And HE seeks us out while we are oh so lost. (Romans 5:8) I was talking with a good friend of mine about how the phrase people often use during trials, "my world is falling apart," is not the best way to word things. Even though heavy trials can often feel that way, we are forgetting that our beautiful LORD has written our entire lives before we were even born. Our suffering is not surprise to JESUS, HE planned it all out.
In the song Just Be Held by Casting Crowns, there is a line that goes, "your world's not falling apart it's falling into place," and this is exactly the theme of today's blog with some great encouragement from HIS Word!
Luke 19:10 - "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."
This verse is just so humbling and encouraging. It reminds me of the bridge in the song JESUS, Strong and Kind by CityAlight:
Verse 4:
"If I am lost, He will come to me
And He showed me on that cross
He will come to me."
Chorus:
"For the Lord is good and faithful,
He will keep us day and night.
We can always run to Jesus,
Jesus, strong and kind."
It is such an overwhelming, humbling, and joyful reminder of the gospel. HE comes to us. HE seeks us. HE holds us.
"Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting. The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the outcasts of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." - Psalm 147:1-3
These three verses are both convicting and encouraging. By praising the LORD, whether that be through song or even just talking about HIM with friends and family, it shifts our focus from our trials onto CHRIST and this brings immense joy! In this life we may never get healed from whatever thorn we have in our flesh (2 Corinthians 12:7-10), but, through CHRIST we are healed of our sin by JESUS' blood and righteousness! This is the best and eternal healing. And, one day we will all be healed and made perfect to worship the LAMB of GOD perfectly without any sin for all eternity!!
Friends, rest in JESUS and knowing that HE holds you and your life. Our lives are continually falling into place by HIS sovereign grace (the word "plan" works better, but I felt like rhyming xD). As the song by Casting Crowns states, let us just be held by HIM.
LORD willing, see you all for our next cup of coffee together!

This picture was taken writing this blog on Sunday night. Writing these blogs have been such a blessing and an encouragement to me, and it makes me so excited to share JESUS with you all!
“Shifts our focus from our trials onto CHRIST” - I was just reflecting on this yesterday and today. Simply over the joy of washing myself with GOD‘s word - nothing heals a weary soul - or for me an often anxious soul - like HIS word (and the encouragement of others sharing HIS Word!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Yes!! That was a big thought of mine this weekend as well. Being in HIS Word and sharing/hearing HIS Word does bring immense comfort and joy!!
