Still Brewing: Coffee #11

Happy Monday, friends! Just a simple encouragement of our security in CHRIST coming off of a wonderful celebration of HIS resurrection yesterday!!
When I was studying the end of Job chapter 11 recently, verse 18 was the biggest encouragement and takeaway for me.
"And you will feel secure, because there is hope; you will look around and take your rest in security."
- Job 11:18
Our security, hope, and rest is in JESUS CHRIST, and it can only be found in HIM!
When I was finding a verse to tie in to this and expand on it more for this blog, I came across this hebrews passage.
"So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek." -Hebrews 6:17-20
That's a meaty passage. I was originally found just verses 19 and 20, but when I read the whole passage, it was so perfect because it talks about GOD being our refuge as well!
These verses are so impactful coming off of Holy Week. Our security is found in a GOD who always stays the same, cannot lie, and gave HIS only SON as a sacrifice for our sins. And, by HIS death and resurrection, the veil to the inner place was torn in two! (Matthew 27:51, Mark 15:38, Luke 23:45) The holy of holies where we once did not belong, JESUS paved the way by HIS blood, so that we can be made white as snow and have a relationship with HIM. It's so overwhelming. What a GOD we have.
I truly do not know of anything that could be more secure.
HOLY SPIRIT, open my eyes more and more, so that I rest in YOUR security in the Ark (Genesis 6, John 10:9), and not hang onto the twigs of this world.
LORD willing, see you all for our next cup of coffee together!
- Sabina
Everything that we could not do, He did perfectly for us - so thankful my security does not rest in myself!
