Happy Monday, friends! As we head into a new work week, let us rest in the stability and protection only HE can provide!
“and he will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is Zion’s treasure.”
Isaiah 33:6 ESV
The LORD is my stability in all the times of my life. HE is abundant in giving me life through JESUS’s salvation and gifting me HIS wisdom and knowledge. My treasure is having the gift of the fear of the LORD.
“In the fear of the Lord one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, that one may turn away from the snares of death.”
Proverbs 14:26-27 ESV
“The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm.”
Proverbs 19:23 ESV
Just briefly looking at the phrase “fear of the LORD” in Scripture, we see that it is life.
Why is it our treasure? Because it is our refuge, the fountain of life. We know that this fear is a reverent one rather than one that makes us anxious, but do we know that in CHRIST, fearing the LORD is actually safe? It’s security for us.
“And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”
1 John 5:11-12 ESV
We will be satisfied, and we can rest knowing we are safe under HIS wings of protection.
What greater stability could this earth give us? Nothing can compare to our Treasure, JESUS CHRIST!
LORD willing, see you all for our next cup of coffee together!
- Sabina

Good morning Sabina! I love the title of this Blog -- how true it is. I remember decades ago trying to soften "the fear of the Lord" with "respect for the Lord". Silly me. I'm still rather embarrassed by that show of disrespect. That four letter word fear, should evoke such Awe and Wonder in our hearts. Recently, I find myself convicted whenever I speak of "The Great I Am" in a flipped manner. Our world is under Judgement for, not only not feariñg the Lord, but not even acknowledging Him! Thank you Sabina for reminding us of our need to always fear our loving Lord!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing!!💗 It was something that jumped out to me since fear isn't associated with safety and security. But for fearing the LORD, it is!!
DeleteAlso, two blogs are scheduled (Monday & Thursday)! Thank you always for your encouragement and support, Mr David!! 💗
